Well what a week ladies and gentlemen! In six years of riding in niseko never have I witnessed a more consistent week of snow.

IMG_4728.JPG

The week one crew rocked up in high-spirits and we couldn’t have been happier with the positive attitude of all the legends that had arrived.

With so much snow on the ground we set out to take all of our crew to some of our more secretive powder stashes within the four world-class resorts we have access to. After several days of non-stop untracked powder it was easy to see how high the froth levels were amongst all of the people camps crew.

by far the best week of my life, the whole camp is set up so well and looking forward to many more years with these legends🏂
— Halen Jones

The crew seemed to take the same positive energy that they took into the mountains to our night events. Our nights were filled with beers, cheers and cheesy grins. And, with a few glasses of nice red and cheese platters thrown in, it was always a good time. Everyone seemed to be getting along like they’d known each other for years. Our night events always equalled a great success and an even greater banter.

The sun came out only briefly a few times. So, when it did we were sure to sneak in a few park laps to keep all the crew on point with manouvers and stunts being thrown down.

The after party of the rail jam was one to be remembered, or forgotten, depending on how your night went. With a private party organised at big foot lodge and a private DJ playing classic 90s tunes there was definitely some funny dance moves being displayed on the floor and occasionally on the tables of the pool tables. It was definitely one of the best weeks I have seen and some of the most awesome crew that I’ve ever met. It was purely good times all-round, not just for the crew but also for all of our staff that were running the show. Thank you to all of you awesome people that came and conquered. We can’t wait to catch up with all of you! Hopefully at Falls Creek People Camps week or New Zealand powder week camp. ◦

People Camps making trick tips years ago.....

Over 5 Years ago co-founder of People Camps, Shaun was making trick tip videos for his good friends over at Transition Snowboard Camps. The footage now has come along way but the tricks are still the same. Growing up and being involved around this type of positive and progressive snowboarding, has given Belmore a real push to see other people experience the good times and just how much fun learning new tricks can be.

Check out old friend and Rockstar Energy shredder Christy Prior throwing hammers girls are only just starting to do now.

Below we have Declan Vogel-Paul a young up and coming ripper at the time. Explaining how to do a frontside lipslide.

A few weeks ago I managed to squeeze in a snow trip to Mt Buller and Thredbo to tame my snowboard cravings. Timed it perfectly with warm and sunny conditions, riding with a great crew you can never have a bad time.

Week 1 Recap

Vibes were high in week one with snow conditions turning it on as the epic crew of like minded legends rolled into Niseko ready to take full advantage of the recent snow fall. The beer tapes in the kanpie bar located in the basement of our lodge were getting a solid work out from the get go. Boys and girls were all mingling and exchanging stories over the pool and ping pong tables, some chilling by the bar while other crew were busy setting up there boards and gear. Its fair to say everyone was pretty pumped to get out on the mountains and discover the abundance of amazing terrain, snow and epic zones the 4 resorts of Niseko have to offer.

Throughout week one we were blessed with a constant stream off snowfalls giving everyone the chance to enjoy the deep dry powder, epic turns and face shots lap after lap. we were splitting off into crews that were then guided by our camp coaches to the best zones and snow stashes available. We were focusing on free riding! Getting some crew used to ridding powder snow in more open areas while some more advance shredders were taken to enjoy some steeper tree runs and natural hits into soft snow.

When the snow was falling as often as it was the terrain park often doesn't get much of a look in however we received some requests for some park lessons which myself and our other coaches were happy to provide. With the crew landing frontside and backside 3,s and smooth back 1,s on the bigger jumps while other crew were dialing in there first front boards on down rails. whenever we hit the park girls and boys were vibing hard and there was no shortage of landed tricks and laughs.

The beer pong tournament, the camper rail jam, the pool comp, burger beer and tequila night, sushi train excursions and the Amaru night (Mexican food + all you can drink for 2 hrs) that turned out to be quiet the doozy there was not shortage of off mountain entertainment.

Week one was all wrapped up and we were sending people home stoked on life but kicking themselves for not sighing up for the full 2 week experience as the snow was still falling on their departure.

Massive thanks from Luke, Colin, Shaun and myself to all the week one crew it was a week to be remembered and we look forward to seeing you on one of our next adventures.

After snow activities #1

After we snowboard we like to party! We have several exiting and adventurous activities lined up for you and your shred buddies to enjoy once you are done searching for pow on the awesome mountains of niseko.

No other night activity holds more potential for glory than our weekly beer pong tournament. Possibly the most sort after crown next to the camp champ is the beer pong champion aka king/queen of the cup. The lucky/talented soul that holds this most prestigious title instantly gains fame throughout the crew and is quickly followed by clingy crew of japanese groupies that will be fleecing you for your recently acquired wod of cash.

For those of you that have already booked We look forward to seeing you at the other end of the table. For those that haven't booked now is the time because week 1 has sold out and week 2 is almost filled.

Get in where you fit in, people camps!!
